So last night I headed out to the 5th installment of the Modesto Tweetup: a gathering place for the local Twitter Community, and a place to meet faces from all sorts of different local industries, and chat about what's happening in our town. Confession: I do not Tweet. Appetéz does not Tweet. Yet. Turns out the Tweetup people do not discriminate, and although I got a little bit of razzing for my distinct lack of a Twitter account, everyone was fabulously nice and welcoming. I got to hear from Cheryl Casey about the fantastic Triumph Fitness Program that works to empower cancer survivors, and from some local Commonwealth members, Joe Muratore and Sarah Fields and hear about how they are working to make Modesto a better place. Thanks Modesto Tweetup, for a great event! And look for Appetéz to join the Twitter community sometime soon. I need more convincing. Since you can't yet Tweet me with persuasive reasons for why we should upgrade our Twitter and Facebook accounts, you can send me an old-skool email--

So I had a BLAST at the Bruno residence on Friday night. They were the amazing hosts for a wonderful dinner party that included four of their closest friends and adorable baby Rocco. Tony and his beautiful wife bid in a live auction to have me come to their home and cook them a Gourmet Five course meal. Appetez donated all food and time and 100% of the proceeds went to the DMC Foundation. The Bruno Family snagged me up for the amazing price of ONLY $1,800- not too bad... I am lots of fun! Thank you Tony, Greta, Ryan, Kim, Josh, and Sam for letting us be a part of your evening! |

 Ready!.... for somethin'.....
Some people go to camp in the summer. And sometimes the camp comes to you! Last week Appetéz had the pleasure of being the home for the Band Together Children's Enrichment Program. These kids learned all about cooking like a chef, what it takes to run a restaurant, and how to be creative in the kitchen! We had a blast helping them out as they zoomed around our kitchen and dining room and by the end of the week they had learned so many great cooking skills, we could practically add them to the payroll! Here's where you can learn more about Band Together. If you know a creative kid who's looking for some fun in the summer, consider enrolling them for a remaining session this year, or signing them up next summer!
Learning how to yolk an egg. Making cookies.
 Wisk in hand, will whip!
Thanks, Band Together Kids!
You are great Chefs-- Happy Cooking to You!

Come celebrate your special moment at Appetéz!
Hi Sarah, I reserved the Chardonnay room yesterday for me and my girlfriend's one year anniversary dinner. I just want to thank you again for the wonderful service, food, and accommodations; my girlfriend and I had a great dinner, and we were really pleased with basically everything. And thank you also for helping us out by taking a few pictures of us. My girlfriend forgot her camera, and it was a pleasant surprise that you were able to do that for us. I can't wait to see those pictures. Thank you again Sarah. Regards, Tyrone Thank YOU, Tyrone. It was a pleasure to meet you. We are so glad you enjoyed your time at Appetéz; Happy Anniversary! Hope to see you again soon.
