In early June Appetéz was honored to host an event with the Office of Representative Cardoza.  This meet-and-greet allowed attendees to meet and chat with the Congressman, and sample tasty bites from Appetéz.

And in related news of the Lions Clubs of Modesto, after many years together the Modesto Breakfast Lions are disbanding their group.  They came to Appetéz on Saturday to celebrate the years of their club's activities and share stories and photos of times together.  Thank you for your service to our community!  We are sorry to hear that you will no longer be meeting regularly, but hope to see you at other Lions Clubs events or out and about in town. 

For almost a year, Appetéz has been the regular meeting home for the Modesto Lions Club.  Every Wednesday they growl their way through meetings with a balanced blend of community discussions, playful jibbing, camraderie, and friendship.

On Friday evening they turned the page in their calendar year of activities and installed new officers for the 2010-2011 year.  In full Lions form it was an evening of ceremony, celebration, and tall tales.

Thank you outgoing President Bill Lapcevic for your efforts to keep the Lions in order over the last year, and good luck to incoming President Tim Fisher to keep this group in line!

The MJC Golf team came to Appetéz on Thursday night to celebrate the end of a great season.  Thanks to head coach Ron Gross for bringing the team to Appetéz along with their friends and family for thank yous, awards, and friendship. 

 Oh there are perks to being a server at Appetéz, yes there are.  And meeting cute golf guys turns out to be one of them!

Head for the Highlands this Weekend!

Well.... a local (and flat-land) version of the Highlands anyway. The Modesto Scottish Highland Games and Gathering of the Clans is happening this Saturday, June 5.  With professional bagpiping, Scottish folk dancing, and athletic events (caber toss, Scottish hammer, and lots of other feats of strength!), there is something for everyone to enjoy-- not to mention delectable cuisine to try AND an excuse to spend a day in the sunshine in Tuolumne River Regional Park!
