This is the perfect time of year to take advantage of the TWO delightful patios we have here at Appetéz and Buddy's! Both let you enjoy the outdoor air and watch the world go by. Both are pet-friendly, and we serve both of our menus in both places!

The Buddy's cozy patio will seat you close enough to sneak your tablemate's french fries, and the Appetéz patio will give you oodles of space to stretch your legs out, and have plenty of space for your pooches to get comfy, too.

Oktoberfest in Munich may be done, but since we're just mid-way through October here in the USA we are still celebrating all the wonderful Oktoberfest beers!

We've got two flowin' at the Buddy's taps this weekend from Leinenkugel and Sam Adams. Read on for more info, or better yet, polka down to Buddy's and give them a try!

Leinenkugel's Oktoberfest
We have loved all the seasonal brews from this Wisconsin-based brewer-- one of the oldest in the country. Their Oktoberfest is a German-Style Märzen with a palatable caramel malt and four kinds of hops. A delightful example of this genre of beer!

Sam Adams Octoberfest
This offering from Sam Adams was so popular last autumn that we brought it back again this year! This reddish amber-hued beer has a perfect harmony of sweet caramel and toffee flavors and subtle bitterness from its Bavarian hops. Come in soon and enjoy our Sam Adams Glass Special-- buy a pint and take this years SA Octoberfest glass home with you!

We had a great time in September with our featured wine of the month-- the Cosentino Collection. These fabulous California wines were a hit as our feature wine for the month, available by the glass or the bottle.

We featured:
- A crisp and bright Chardonnay, with mineral notes
- An earthy Pinot Noir with flavors of tart pomegranate and red cherries
- A bold Merlot with black-fruit jam flavor and spice aromas
- A luscious and rich Cabernet Sauvignon with aromas of dried cherry and cassis, a finish of dark chocolate and smooth tannins

Many of these wines are not available in local stores, but we still have some bottles left. Have one with your meal at Appetéz (Pinot & Pasta!) or Buddy's (Merlot & Ribs!), or take one to-go. We'll hold over that feature wine price of only $22 / bottle (amazing!!) for a few more days for you!

It's how you know it's autumn in Modesto-- despite our daytime temperatures still hovering around in the 90s, the parks are FULL of kids of all sizes kicking around soccer balls. From the Appetéz patio we have a great view of all the kids in Roosevelt park as they play. Saturday's a big day with groups coming out not long after the sun rises, and people around through the afternoon!

Don't forget that wherever your kids play soccer in town, Buddy's is just around the corner for post-game refueling and midday refreshment. We welcome all sizes of groups and have great kid-friendly favorites like hotdogs, burgers, macaroni and cheese, and fabulous french fries. Buddy's is casual and fast and we don't mind the cleats tromping through the peanut shells on the floor!

Since Buddy's opened last year, we've given a lot of page space to describing all the fantastic seasonal beer taps they've got; every few weeks you'll find something new and interesting at their bar.

What we've neglected to mention is all the time, thought, and mixing practice our bartenders have put into coming up with some fantastic cocktails! Beer is a classic, but every once in a while you need something a little more.... festive!

Sapphire Sweet Peach - nectar for the soul and spirit! with a touch of champagne
